While Army remains in play for several quality defensive linemen, their quest continues for defensive line talent for the 2013 recruiting class as they have reached out to the Midwest for one such prospect.

The staff has recently connected with Nathan Tanguay out of Mukwonago (Wisc.) Mukwonago High School and may it clear to the defensive lineman their level of interest.

"This past Thursday I got an offer from Army," says the defensive end prospect.
"They saw my film last Wednesday and Coach Tucker Waugh came to my school on Thursday and offered me. I was really surprised, because it's an honor to get an offer from such a great school like that. I mean academically and military wise, but they also really legendary in football."

So what was Tanguay's reaction to the offer from the Black Knights? "After he offered me, we walked down to Coach Iverson's room, then I told him and he gave me a hug," adds Tanguay. "Then I called my parents and told them and my parents were really excited."

The Black Knights' strategy of finding that diamond in the rough prospect fit right into the tag line attached to Tanguay. "I think he's (Tanguay) really underrated," says Jon McNamara, Publisher of BadgerBlitz.com.  I saw him play this year and he's a good ball player."

So what is Tanguay's interest level in Army? "I'm really high on them," declared the Wisconsin native, who said that he will be assessing his recruiting situation more diligently after his senior season concludes. "I want everything to settle in and see what I get throughout the rest of the season. After the season and when everything seems to slow down and I know exactly what is going to come, then I will make my commitment and Army is definitely up there. West Point is a great school and anyone would be lucky to go there. I am honored and I would love to go there if that's the right fit for me."

"I'm looking to take an official there (West Point), probably after the season," he adds.

Beyond being exciting about his most recent offer, Tanguay, fills that things are also going in the right direction for him and his teammates at Mukwonago. "My season is awesome," says Tanguay. "We're starting off really good and we're playing for a conference title this Friday against Hartland Arrowhead.

Mukwonago has a quality team this season, where the competition is solid and for the first time since 2005, they are 5-2 overall and 5-1 in conference.

However, McNamara had this to offer. "Arrowhead (6-0) is the best team in the state and Mukwonago. However, it's still a real good season for them (Mukwonago) under their first-year head coach (Clay Iverson)." 

The 6-foot-4, 253 pound Tanguay's primary position is defensive end, although he projects himself playing elsewhere at the next level. "But I think I will play defensive tackle," he shares.

On the season, Tanguay has 9.5 sacks and along with his offers from Army, North Dakota, Southern Illinois and Western Illinois, Tanguay shared that he is also receiving interest from Minnesota, Iowa State, Wyoming and Western Michigan.
