Army vs. Air Force - Live Blog/Chat
IT'S GAME TIME! ....
.... Last season, Air Force arrived on the campus of West Point and when the day was over, the Army Black Knights has taken down their academy rival, 41-21.
While Air Force is struggling through a disappointing 1-7 season, the Falcons prepare for one of those games that -- as the old rivalry cliché says -- you can throw out the records.
Air Force won't be lacking for motivation when playing host to Army (3-5) on Saturday at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs (CO). It's the last chance to salvage a win in the round-robin Commander-in-Chief's Trophy competition after already losing to Navy a month ago, 28-10.
The Black Knights on the other hand know that this game is pivotal to keep their hopes alive of a possible post-season bowl game.
"Anytime you play a rival, it's almost like you want to play harder," shared free safety Geoffery Bacon during his interview with GoBlackKnights.com earlier this week.
"So we recognize that and we know they are going to come out playing hard. Our goal as a defensive is to shut that down. It out there (Colorado) and I was telling some of the guys that it's different out there. Last year some of the guys on Air Force were talking trash and it's going to be a different level when we get out there."
"They try to play the mind games, where they do things like have signs up in the locker room saying it's high altitude. So we're trying to go out there and send a message for the rest of the season. And this game is a stepping stone to get to our goal."
By the way we have added a number of new features since last year - so we recommend that you kick off your shoes, sit back & enjoy the game, as you join in on the game day blog/chat with other Army football fans.
Note: In order to comment during the Saturday's contest, please note that readers do not have to login during this session, which will have limited moderation during the course of this ball game.
