Army Football Alumni Update

GoBlackKnights.com is proud to provide some messages from Army Football Alumni.

GBK.com has created this page dedicated to former players who are now serving on active duty. We understanding that the commitment to West Point, Army Football, and being an officer in the United States Army is collectively what makes Army Football as unique and special as it is.

And yes, there were those Army Black Knights that came before those presently displayed, GBK.com honors and thanks you for your legacy and service.

Tony Fusco, Defensive Tackle #66

Class of 2008

Tony is currently working as a 2LT in the Office of the Secretary of the General Staff on West Point, while recovering from shoulder surgery.  He will be heading to BOLC II (Basic Officer Leader Course) at Fort Sill, Oklahoma on July 6th, 2009.

"Since I am working on West Point but not in direct contact with the team I don't know much about what is going on, but I was able to watch the spring football game and I think the team is progressing greatly with the option.  I have heard good things from some of the players about Coach Ellerson and from what I have heard, I am very optimistic about the upcoming season.  Coach Ellerson seems to be a coach that does what he says he will do and he is the type of guy who gets things done.  I know there will be a lot of W's coming our way in the future with him as the coach."

Cason Shrode, Middle Linebacker #54

Class of 2007

Currently serving as an 1st LT & FSO in the Kamdesh Valley in Afghanistan

B Troop 3-61 CAV, 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division

"I am excited about the upcoming season and what it sounds like Coach Ellerson is doing with the program. He seems to be the right man for the job to get the program back on top. I have heard nothing but praises from everyone who has met him or been around the program in the past 4 or 5 months. Although it will be hard for me to follow the coming season I will make sure I find a way to check the weekly scores for Army W's."

"It is both an honor and a privilege to call myself an Army football player. Everyone who has become a part of this fraternity over the years has made me realize how special that title really is. Playing football at West Point is so much more than just football. It's pageantry, it's honor, it's total commitment, and it's looking at the guy to the left and right of you and saying I will do everything in my power to not let that guy down. It is a brotherhood that extends past the football field and throughout the rest of your life. Beat everybody!"

Sean Grevious, Cornerback

Class of 2007

Currently serving as 1st LT in Iraq (Mosul)

Ranger - Class 10/08

B Troop 4-9 CAV, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division

"Although it's pretty tough to follow how the team has developed this spring, I have heard good things about Coach Ellerson and I am optimistic that he will get Army football back to where it should be."

"To all my former teammates, as well as the former players - stay safe, especially if you are in Iraq or Afghanistan, and to the 2009 Black Knights- an excellent season awaits you, and of course BEAT NAVY."
