Army To Wear Special Uniforms Saturday Versus Navy

WEST POINT, N.Y.  - For the second straight season, Army will be wearing uniforms specially designed by Nike Football when it takes the field against arch-rival Navy on Saturday. This year's uniform design pays tribute to the year 1944, which included the first of the Black Knights' three straight national championships and the United States' World War II victory at the Battle of the Bulge.
The Black Knights will sport black jerseys with black pants, gold shoes and gold helmets. A historical, re-interpreted West Point map of the battle is incorporated into several elements of the uniform, including the jersey numbers, gloves, helmet stripe and inside of the cleats. In addition, the helmet features a small black spade on the side in honor of the 101st Airborne Division, which fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
The 113th Army-Navy Game presented by USAA will be played this Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and will be broadcast live to a national audience by CBS.
