If you are keeping watch, you already know that Army West Point has been extending offers all across the country over the past few weeks and just yesterday their tentacles reached the west coast.
Garden Grove (CA) Pacifica High School dual-threat quarterback Ben Jefferson is the latest receiptant of an offer from the Black Knights’ staff.
“I currently have offers from Air Force and Navy as well,” Jefferson told GoBlackKnights.com in a conversation on Friday. “I actually received the offer [Army] today as a matter of fact.”
“Army was recruiting me prior to my offer. Coach [Sean] Saturnio actually called me earlier today. We began talking a little bit about myself, like where I grew up and family related topics. Also about the conversation he had with my coach and a little bit about himself as well.”
Jefferson shared that the conversation turned more towards the upside of being part of the Black Knights’ football program and the academy itself.
“Then he talked me about the benefits of Army West Point and the direction of the football program,” Jefferson added. “We mainly just talked, a casual conversation between us ... to get to know each other better
“At this present moment Army is definitely an option, but it is early in my recruiting process and I'm still weighing all my options.”
During the 6-foot-0, 170 pound prospect’s 2016 junior season, he compiled 2,124 passing yards, 1,067 rushing yards and 40 total touchdowns
GoBlackKnights.com will continue to follow the Jefferson’s recruiting throughout the spring/summer, as well as his upcoming 2017 football campaign, so keep it right here.
