OLB/RB from Virginia picks up offer from the Army Black Knights

The Black Knights’ coaching staff continues to plug away with regard to recruiting the 2019 class of prospects and as always, the Mid-Atlantic area is always a hotspot for Monken and his team of coaches.

One of the most recent players to receive an offer from Army West Point is outside linebacker Joshua Burdsall, who is out of Woodbridge (VA) Forest Park High School.

According to the 6-foot-0, 208 pounder, he first caught the coaches attention this past summer at an Old Dominion football camp

“I ran a 4.45 at a camp during the summer and that’s how they noticed me.” said Burdsall, who readily admitted that even with his camp performance, he was somewhat surprised by offer that came from Army defensive coordinator Jay Bateman. “It’s been some time [between the camp and offer]. but it was a little of a surprise.”

“I went to Army’s Junior day and they offered me a week later and that was from Coach Bateman.”

“Well, I got the offer about two weeks ago (1/30) and he called me on my phone after weight lifting and told me they were happy I came up for the Junior Day,” explained the linebacker. “He liked my size and said I could be a great addition to the team and offered me

Burdsall’s primary position at Forest Park High School is outside linebacker, where during his 2017 junior campaign he registered 50 tackles, but also had 600 all purpose yards on offense.

So where is his level of interest in the Army Black Knights relative to his overall recruiting picture?

“It’s pretty high right now, since I only have two offers,” he proclaimed.
