“Today I just got Army West Point,” the 5-foot-9, 162 pound receiver told GoBlackKnights.com on Monday.

“Well, I talked to Coach Mike Viti like four weeks ago and we talked for a bit. After that we went silent for about three weeks and then Coach [Todd] Spencer talked to me today. He then offered me earlier today. So it wasn't a pure surprise, but it took me off guard.”

Surprised or not, Rodgers openly admitted that he is intrigued with the offer from Army West Point and the next step is get on campus.

“I actually really like it, even though I haven't been to the campus yet,” he stated. “I am pretty sure I will love it and love the atmosphere of the college.”

When it comes to visits, Rodgers pointed out that he has already tapped into a couple of schools.

“I visited Tulane, Baylor and UTSA so far,” said the fast/quick receiver, who is an offensive threat anywhere on the field. “I'm not visiting any colleges really until the summer begins and I don't know all of who I am visiting with yet. I'll know in the next 2 weeks though.”

During his 2016 junior season, he was very productive on the receiving in of the ball, where he compiled over 1,000 all purpose yards, over 650 receiving yards on 30 receptions and was the school’s 2016 MVP.

GoBlackKnights.com will continue to follow Rodgers’ recruiting throughout the spring/summer, as well as his upcoming 2017 football campaign, so keep it right here.
