Both Tre Bruce and Jake Cantey attended the service academy send off hosted by Congressman French Hill this past Saturday afternoon, as each student-athlete prepares for their next step into the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Bruce, who is out of Little Rock (ARK) is listed as a wide receiver by Rivals, but will enter into the Army Black Knights program as an athlete and whose first stop will be at the USMAPS. He was joined by his family on Saturday at the Arkansas 2nd Congressional Service Academy Send-off, hosted by Congressman French Hill at the MacArthur Museum of Military History in Little Rock.

The 6-foot-1- 190 pound shared with GoBlackKnights.com that he is ready to get his Army West Point career started. “Yes sir,” he stated. “It was great I got to meet the others who are going to West Point and yes I've so excited and ready to go to West Point.”

Although he met with several other future cadets, Bruce said that he struck up a conversation with Cantey, who indicated that he was going to attempt to walk-on to the Army football program.

GBK reported (Click Here) on Cantey attempt to walk-on this time last year as he had just completed the one day football camp back in July.

He will be entering the academy as a direct admit and had this to offer our readers.

“I just wanted to follow up about the event [Arkansas 2nd Congressional Service Academy Send-Off],” shared Cantey in his conversation with GBK on Saturday.

“It was great to be recognized by Congressman French Hill, and to meet all the other guys that'll be going to the Academy. I'm excited for R-Day and Beast, and I'm more than ready to start my journey at West Point. I talked to Coach [Tucker] Waugh and told him I was going to try to walk-on and I'd see him this summer, so I'm hoping for the best. It's definitely an honor to be going to the United States Military Academy! GO ARMY!”
