Although DE/TE Nolan Cockrill was on campus during the Black Knights’ first one-day football summer camp, the 6-foot-3, 230 pounder out of Centreville (VA) Westfield High School was only an observer.

Most of his day was engaged with the Army coaching staff, taking in the sites of campus and of course the football facilities, as well as watching the camp itself.

By the time his Saturday unofficial visit was over, and it was apparent to Cockrill that Army West Point would be his college destination as he made it official on Sunday morning.

“I verbally committed to West Point this morning and I connected with Coach [Jay] Bateman,” he told GoBlackKnights.com on Sunday in an exclusive interview.
