Field of Dream is a 1989 American fantasy-drama sports film staring Kevin Costner. In the film, Costner’s character (Ray) builds a baseball field on his farm property and he tells his wife Annie and daughter (Karin) of the story of the 1919 Black Sox Scandal.

Walking in his cornfield one night Ray hears a voice telling him “If you build it, he will come”. The voice is accompanied by a vision of a baseball diamond in the cornfield.

Metaphorically speaking, attention plants a seed, while effort, time, and action give the seed the best opportunity to grow and thrive.

Regarding Head Coach Jeff Monken and the Army coaching staff ... it has been through their tireless efforts of developing players since their arrival 4 years ago, 3 solid recruiting classes along with a breakout 2016 season that included ending Army’s losing streak against rival Navy and a bowl win over North Texas. Yes, there have been many seeds planted throughout the entire program and when it comes to recruiting, there are some very key recruits as the Black Knights look to continue to build on what is already a very impressive 2018 recruiting class.

So let’s take a look at who was on campus this weekend for either the “Knight On The Hudson” BBQ and/or Saturday’s one-day football camp, but have yet to commit anywhere however are high on the Black Knights.

The 3-star prospect clearly enjoyed his time on campus on Friday and left early on Saturday.

“I talked to Coach Monken about 2-3 separate times throughout the day,” said Walker, who is a very hot target for the Black Knights. “I spoke with majority of the staff today. They did a good job showing love and interest. It was a lot of good conversations and they were selling West Point very good to me.”

Augustine arrived on campus Friday, with the Black Knights already his top choice, but the weekend only added to his lean toward Army West Point.

Army is very impressive,” who shared with GoBlackKnights.com the conversation that he had with Monken just before Saturday’s camp session began.

“I went to his office and Coach Monken stated that he needs me on his defense and he loves my style of play and somewhat reminds him of Andrew King, linebacker that graduated this year. Also talked about my leadership.”

I love West Point right now, but I don't know a given date or time ... they're leading,” added Augustine, who had fellow Collins High School company on campus well, with teammate Evan Anderson joining in on the weekend’s festivities.

The linebacker indicated that he doesn’t plan on taking any further visits elsewhere.

“I'm leaning closer and closer to you guys. I loved my experience and

the tour really surprised me,” shared the running back. “The amount of history and how nice the rooms are ... everything to be honest. And I loved talking to the players like Rhyan England and Cam Jones.”

The talented linebacker out of New Jersey was unable to make the visit up to campus this weekend because of personal reasons. He remains another very hot target for the Black Knights and since the time he was offered, he has shown mutual interest in the program.

RECENT CAMP OFFERS
