Often times it comes down to who you are listening to or the results of players in question when one assesses how significant recruiting is to any college football program in the nation.

So you have those who embrace the ranking (star allocation), whereas others feel there is little to zero significance to such a system.

Hmmmm? I can see the logic in both sides of the equation, but from where I stand, there is true value in the rankings via Rivals.com, but more so, how those rankings and star system are derived.

When it comes to Army West Point and programs that are similarly positioned within the framework of major college football, there is special attention given to prospects who hold that 3-Star rating. Needless to say, we have never encountered a prospect committing to the Black Knights who have a 4 or 5-Star status.

However, we have always taken the approach, and you have heard it often from Head Coach Jeff Monken, that the program is never going to out-recruit those “brand” name programs and that is for some very obvious reasons.

That is an accepted fact, which is offset by what Monken has done in his tenure at the academy and that is always assembling a stellar coaching staff around him, who consistently develop their player personnel (Click Here - Not Always About Stars/Ranking). So that 0-3 star prospect could and/or will develop into a 3-4 star caliber recruited player.

The fact that every single former Army player (Cole Christiansen, Elijah Riley, Jon Rhattigan, Brett Toth and Andre Carter) that is currently on an NFL roster was a 2-Star prospect upon their commitment and arrival to West Point.

The flip side of that equation is that there have been several key players under Coach Monken who were 3-Star recruits and their contribution has made the Army program what it is.

The uniqueness of the 2025 recruiting class, it currently has five Rivals 3-star commitments. Other than the 2018 recruiting class, which also had five such designations, five is very impressive and each of those current pledged prospects brings solid talent to the program … so we are excited about what they can potentially bring to the table and of course, we can only imagine how eager and excited the Black Knights coaching staff is.

Their recruiting efforts speaks for itself and so here are the current 3-Star 2025 Army Football Commits.
