DE, Josh McNary Named To Lott Trophy Watch List

Newport Beach, Calif. - Army senior defensive end Josh McNary has been named to the 2010 Lott Trophy Watch List, it was announced Thursday in Newport Beach by former NFL standout Ronnie Lott and the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation.
The watch list consists of 42 student-athletes.

McNary, who is Army's all-time leader in sacks (18) and was one of seven players from the non-automatic qualifying schools to be named to the watch list for the Lott Trophy. The Lott Trophy recognizes a player's on-field and off-field characteristics. Last season, TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes became the first player from a non-automatic qualifying school to win the award.
McNary, who was awarded All-American status in 2009, where he ranked 4th in the nation with 12.5 sacks. The 6-foot-1, 225 native from Houston, Texas is rehabbing from end of season shoulder surgery. McNary appears to be on schedule and is looking forward to a solid senior campaign.
Voters for the award include selected members of the national media, previous finalists, members of the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation Board of Directors, the Legends Coaches and distinguished alumni of various schools around the nation.
The winner, who will be announced at the annual black-tie gala in December, receives $25,000 for his school's general scholarship fund. Three runnerups each receive $5,000.
