Hayden Reed was recruited out of Tampa, Florida in 2021 as a running back with a 5.3 rating from Rivals. He entered West Point in 2022 and got an early entry into the rotation at fullback with appearances in 10 games with 2 starts. He carried the ball 37 yards for 188 yards (5.1 ave) and 2 Touchdowns in his freshman season.
In the first three games this season, the 6-foot-0, 215-pounder has nearly equaled his 2022 season production. He had 10 carries for 29 yards against ULM, and 3 carries for 17 yards against Delaware State, but he broke out with 20 carries for a career high 107 yards and his first TD of the season against UTSA.
Reed is more of a classic open-field power runner with a season-long rush of 27 yards in the UTSA game and a punt return of 24 yards against Delaware State.
But let's hear more from the sophomore running back as he chatted with GBK’s Joe Iacono after yesterday's practice.
