Jeremy Trimble would love to follow in the footsteps of his father, Steve, who spent three years with the Denver Broncos and one with the Chicago Bears in the NFL.

The 6-foot-1, 220 wide receiver and punt returner has come one step closer to that possibility, as the Kansas City Chiefs contacted Trimble and invited him to their mini-camp that kicks off Thursday through Sunday, with workouts both Friday & Saturday.
Should all go well, the multi-talented offensive player could be offered a rookie free agent contract this weekend. "There are some contracts that they give out after the draft to free agents (undrafted players) and then after that they have some guys that are on the bubble … and I guess you could consider me on the bubble on whether or not if they want to sign me and bring me to training camp," shares Trimble. "They said it will base on my performance and if they like me they will sign me to a free agent contract on Saturday, but if not, I will be taking some chances elsewhere …it's all about performance."
Trimble has proven himself worthy of All-American consideration as a punt returner, but it is the combination as wide receiver and punt returner, that had caught the interest of several NFL teams. Clubs such as the Denver Broncos, Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers and Seattle Seahawks were in talks with Trimble's agent about bringing him in for mini-camp and/or signing him as a free agent. "That is what has intrigued some teams about me, is being able to play that receiver kind of slot, and also do punt returner as well as me doing kick returns," declares a confident Trimble. "I definitely think the NFL teams are looking for that … for people who can do more than one thing.
Trimble realizes that he is going to have to shine at the Chiefs' mini-camp even beyond his Pro Day performance at Army in order to make it to the next step in the process. "I had a pretty good day (pro-day), but the only thing that hindered me was not doing the forty and doing those drills, because I just recently came off of a foot injury. I had a good day otherwise doing routes and catching punts … it was a good experience.
The 6-foot-1, 220 wide receiver does not have blazing speed and is build more like a running back than wide receiver. However, Trimble always seems to be able get open down field, and with his deceptive speed and physical stature and once gets his hand on the ball, Trimble can be a load for many defenders to take on and bring down. Clearly this is what Trimble wants to display this weekend at the Chiefs' mini-camp.
