Defensive end prospect Taajhir McCall (aka TJ) is another high priority prospect that the Army West Point coaching staff has been paying a lot of attention to.

The 6-foot- 4, 220 pounder, who has already taken an official visit to the academy has plenty of room to get bigger and stronger and he is just what the 2019 class needs on the defensive side of scale.

He brings plenty of upside, raw talent and impressive stats, where in 2018 he registered11 sacks, 2 FF, 1FR, 1TD, 80+ tackles, along with12 TFL at Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Florida.

The Sunshine State prospect was on the tail-end of a home visit on Thursday from Black Knights’ Head Coach Jeff Monken, and he indicated that the time together was extremely comfortable and insightful.

IN HIS OWN WORDS ....

“Well I already met Coach Monken on my official visit, so there wasn’t an awkward tension like how it could have been having a stranger in your home,” explain McCall.

“He got to meet the rest of my family, he shared stories with my granddad and listened to my grandpa’s stories as well. He held my 9-month old niece without her crying {laughing}. He’s a good guy and there was never a discomfort when he was around.”

“But he also made it clear, they want me to play football for them,” added the linebacker.

When it comes to the Black Knights’ component relative to his overall recruiting, McCall had this to share.

“The program is great and the recruiting they are doing is great ... I’m just keeping my recruiting options open a little bit longer before I make any decisions,” declared McCall.

Like most prospects who have obtained an offer from the Black Knights, McCall’s eyes were on Saturday’s Army-Navy game.

“It was a dog fight, but a great game overall,” said the linebacker out of Pensacola (FL) Pine Forest High School told GoBlackKnights.com on Thursday.

I loved the play to really change the game and win it for Army, the strip sack at the end... I’m a defensive player and that’s what excites me, big time players make big plays in big moments.”

They earned it, a lot of hard work and players playing for the man next to them, and of course I can see my self situations like that, I thrive for big games like those games,” added McCall, when addressing Army West Point’s No. 22 ranking in the nation.

GoBlackKnights.com will continue to follow McCall’s recruiting, so keep it right here.
