This will make the 2nd time this season that a much anticipated Army football contest has been canceled due to COVID-19 ... directly or indirectly.

Prior to the kick-off of the 2020 season, the Oklahoma Sooners who were scheduled to visit West Point on September 26th to take on the Black Knights, but the game was canceled. At that time, the Army West Point athletic department recognized the Big 12 Conference's decision to disallow non-conference away games.

Fast forward to this Saturday’s academy rivalry match-up between the Air Force Falcons and that nationally ranked Army Black Knights. It has been learned that due to an outbreak within the Falcons’ program, this weekend’s scheduled contest has now off.

No reports suggest that game will be rescheduled. In the meantime, sources indicate that Army Athletics have attempted to and will continue to find a replacement for Saturday, but to date, nothing has unfolded.

How does this impact the pursuit of the CiC Trophy? That answer is unknown at this time.

It should be noted that the Army Rifle and Men’s Tennis teams will compete against Air Force this weekend as previously scheduled.

GoBlackKnights.com will have more on this story as it unfolds.
